What is Breathwork?

Simply put, Breathwork is a form of active meditation that deepens your connection to mind, body, soul. Through using conscious breathing patterns, we can access the subconscious, uncovering old thought patterns and beliefs, releasing heavy emotion, and literally rewiring our nervous system. While there are many techniques that make up Breathwork, I typically teach and focus on the 3-part circular breath set to music. And when I say music, I mean good music - acoustic favorites, hip-hop, electronic,  meditation tracks and everything in between!

What are the benefits of Breathwork?

It's hard to describe the magic of breathwork; however, some tangible effects, include:

Body / Physical: Detoxing the body, helping bring in more alkalinity and offsetting acidity, releasing physical pain from the body, assisting in proper digestion, feeding oxygen to the blood, muscles, organs and brain and boosting immunity.

Mind/Emotions: Releasing stored up anger, anxiety, depression, and other heavy emotions, gaining clarity of thought, releasing oxytocin and endorphins, and shifting into a deeper level of love and forgiveness for yourself and others.

Soul: Gaining inner wisdom and connecting deeply with your soul's purpose, being more present and in love with this moment, and surrendering to what is and allowing more abundance, flow and ease.

Why did you combine MIND·BODY·SOUL into one program?

I’ve been researching this connection for years. I’ve noticed on both my journey and those with my clients that the physical transformation is only sustainable when we are doing the inner work. The inner world is always reflected in our outer world, in relationships, in business, in our bodies. We are our ultimate creator, and in combining MIND·BODY·SOUL we are taking responsibility for that creation. It is then, that we can optimize the entire human experience.

How do I prepare for Virtual Breathwork?

For Virtual Breathwork, you will need to find a quiet, undisturbed space where you can feel cozy and lie down comfortably. Have a blanket, pillow and eye mask or something to cover your eyes. You’ll want to wear comfortable clothes and socks (some people get cold during Breathwork). You will set up your space so that your computer camera can be focused on your body when you lay down. Also, tell anyone who you may live with that you will be in a practice that utilizes sound, so they aren’t surprised when we get a little loud. Have a notebook, pen and water bottle or a cup of tea nearby. It helps when all food is digested at least one hour before the journey. Lastly, I love to create a vibe. You can light candles, smudge sage, light the intense or Palo Santo, bring out the essential oils, or build an alter. Let’s support the journey!
